Dining at Tod Mountain Ranch

Our resident chef  will provide wholesome, homecooked meals with an emphasis on locally sourced, seasonal produce. Combining the healthy with the hearthy, this is gourmet cooking with a ranch twist. Meals are served family style with guests and staff eating together, so you get to know everyone.

A hearty breakfast will be served in the dining room every morning before the rides depart. There will always be a selection of cereals, toast, bagels, muffins or pastries, yoghurts  and fresh fruit. To give you the energy to sustain you to lunch time, Chef will also rustle up a hot dish of bacon and eggs or maybe pancakes.

Lunch is usually an outdoor feast, either taken on the ride or enjoyed on the deck. When taking lunch at the ranch, the Chef provides a variety of soups, pasta dishes or salads all served with fresh home baked breads. Out on the trail, picnic lunches will be carried in your saddle bags and might include sandwiches, fruit and cookies.

To satisfy that huge appetite you will have earned after a days riding, dinner is a 3-course feast of home style cooking using the freshest ingredients. All of our meals are made from scratch making it easy for us to cater to varying dietary requirements.    If you have any special dietary requirements, just let us know in advance.

Meet The Chef – Silas Helmer

We are delighted to welcome Silas, a Red Seal Certified Chef to our kitchen this year. Silas was classically trained, achieving Le Grande Diplome from Le Cordon Bleu through the Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute and then furthering his training in Gastronomy at Le Cordon Bleu in Australia.

Much of Silas’ career has seen him working in several of the top hotels and restaurants in Toronto. He recently moved back to  BC,  his home   province , where he can combine his love of the outdoors, nature and adventure with his passion for food and cooking.

When he’s not in the kitchen, Silas will no doubt be hiking on the mountain, or fishing one of the many lakes near the ranch.

Lovely time!!  Wonderful, quiet, relaxing.  Sweet horses, comfy bed & exquisite food!!
