The Trails

We have a variety of rides that vary in duration from an hour to all day rides. We ride on old logging roads and cattle trails high up into the mountain alpine, crossing streams and riding along the creeks. We generally ride for 4 - 5 hours each day however guests can choose to ride as much or as little as they like.

Explore the Trails

On our shorter 2 hour rides, we will ride out after breakfast returning to the ranch for lunch. Then after lunch, we’ll ride out again to explore a different direction and a new set of trails still returning in plenty of time for you to relax and freshen up before dinner.

Longer Day Trips

On other days we will pack lunch in our saddle bags and follow the trails to the Heffley Lake lookout, or deep into the bush, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch returning to the ranch late afternoon.

Trails for All Levels of Horse Riding Experience

The pace of our rides vary with the terrain and the experience and preferences of the group. Sometimes we will enjoy leisurely walks, whilst at others there will be opportunities for the more experienced riders to canter/lope.  Many of our trails climb steep terrain and on these trails the pace will be limited to walking and trotting. Riding instruction in our arena is also available.

We like to keep our rides to a maximum group of 8 riders so will often have 2 rides going out at the same time.

Thanks everyone for making my stay here a relaxing as well as a challenging experience.  They say it’s never too late to try something new and it’s turned out to be true for my first time on horseback.  I’ll be going home with a great experience in my bag and a lot of photos that could never do the landscape credit except to remind me of it.  G.P., Denmark
