Chef/Cook

We are seeking a talented Chef/Cook who is passionate about food to create the menu and set a high standard for food service at the ranch.

We prepare and serve 3 meals a day as well as provide a selection of baked goods that will be available to guests throughout the day. A creative and adaptive approach to food service will be required as our emphasis is on locally sourced, fresh seasonal produce with meals served family style.

You will be responsible for all stages of kitchen activities including:

  • Food Preparation
  • Menu planning, costing & portion control
  • Food ordering and inventory management
  • Food safety, sanitation and food storage

You must be passionate about food and love to cook. This is a rare opportunity for you to develop your signature style, experiment with recipes and take ownership of the kitchen. As the sole chef in the kitchen you will need to be well organised.

This is a seasonal position and we need you to be available from 1st May - 30th September 2010.

Applicants will have previous professional cooking experience and a culinary qualification will be an advantage. Most importantly you will have a strong work ethic, a love of food and the ability to satisfy the biggest and fussiest of appetites!
